Step Into The Story

I can't believe that it is almost July! Where has the time gone? Probably on my last ditch, desperate attempts to complete my draft manuscript which is due in on 30th June! After that I'll be getting ready for the RWA Conference in Washington which I'm looking forward to very much indeed! I can't wait to meet old friends and make some new ones. I'll be offering a special conference giveaway for all readers who are going to be there and a special website contest for all readers who can't make it, so no one gets left out. Here is the first cover for my new HQN Regency series, The Brides of Fortune, which will be coming to a bookstore or internet bookseller near you in June! I am SO excited to see the covers for my new series, which are all in this beautiful style. Over the next few weeks I'll be posting all the covers and some juicy details about the series! I've noticed that the "headless bodice" cover seems to be increasingly popular with publishers and has featured on historicals by Phillipa Gregory, Elizabeth Chadwick and Mary Balogh, amongst others. In this case of course the heroine isn't totally headless, just cut off somewhere around the nose. And whilst this may not sound very attractive, I think the cover looks gorgeous. But what do YOU think? Do you like covers where there's a little bit of mystery about the appearance of the hero or heroine, or do you prefer a full face version or even a full body version of hero and heroine together?
